The Future of DeKalb County
Learning beyond high school is increasingly a prerequisite for earning family-sustaining wages. But the answer is not always the traditional four-year college degree. Work skills certificates, apprenticeships and two-year college degrees may be equally valuable, and sometimes pay higher wages than jobs requiring four-year degrees, depending on the labor market.
Learning Link, a collaborative education initiative facilitated by the Community Foundation DeKalb County, strives to improve the quality of life by inspiring a community of lifelong learners throughout DeKalb County, Indiana. They do this by aligning community and business leaders and providers of learning opportunities and resources serving residents of DeKalb County, Indiana, toward shared learning goals, from early learning to adulthood.
